Jennifer Ehle (born December 29 1969 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA to British actress Rosemary Harris and American author John Ehle) is a stage & film actress. Around 1992 she was plucked from drama school by Peter Hall to star in the mini-series The Camomile Lawn. She is arguably better known for her role when Elizabeth Bennet in the 1995 mini-series Pride and Prejudice (BBC), although she also won critical plaudits & the Tony Award for her portrayal of Annie in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing in 2000.

Her latest stage performance was within September 2005. She played Tracy Lord in The Philadelphia Story by Philip Barry at London's Old Vic theatre, alongside Kevin Spacey.

Retiring romanticistic relationships include Toby Stephens, whom she met on The Camomile Lawn, and Colin Firth, with whom she starred around Pride & Preconception.

She is married to the writer Michael Ryan, & it have a immature boy, George.
